As I sit at the computer this morning, my morning routine seems so different. I can hear the birds chirping outside the window, and I have The Today Show on. The house is peaceful and quiet. I do not hear batman roaring from the television. The morning rush is not happening, and I am not having to hunt for tennis shoes, and clean glasses. Most moms would find the quiet break nice and relaxing, but not me. It is overwhelming my mind with anxiety. My sweet boy is gone. I miss my morning breakfast battle with him. "GTO, please eat something. Hurry and finish. No, I will not re-heat your waffles. Eat faster." Spring break is this week. GTO is probably waking up to the sound of birds outside his lakeside window. His JoJo is probably downstairs slaving away at the best breakfast he has ever had, because that is what Grandmas do. I doubt he has missed me yet. After all, it hasn't even been 24 hours since I kissed his sweet face. This is the week that I always hate work. I hate that I can't spend Spring Break playing outside with my kids. I wish today that I could be fishing with him, or flying kites with him. This will be the longest stretch away from one of my children. 5 days may be too long to handle. The panic attacks will start to set in on Wednesday, and by Friday, we will be speeding down the Interstate and flinging the door open to the lake house so I can see that beautiful face. Wish me luck this week.

I tried telling him that since he was going to be gone this week that I needed a few new pictures of him. I told him I needed to be able to see his face every day. I thought this would be a good reason for him to let me take his picture which he doesn' t allow often enough. His reply, "Mom, just look at your blog anytime you want to see me." Oh Well, at least I tried. :) I did manage to get these as we were packing his bags. Can't you see his enthusiasm??! It was a struggle just to get these two pictures out of him.

You can do it! I know how hard it is though. I'll be in your shoes in a less than 2 weeks...Tony is going to CA for 12 days....12 DAYS!! will be the longest we've been apart in our 17 years together. Keep your chin up! This is good for both of you guys!

Good luck. Enjoy yourself. I always enjoy it until Wednesday as well. Then I can't sleep and I am miserable.

Have some girly time with Gigi!
