Question of the Day

The GreyGill Fish household receives a lot of Christmas cards that I would love to display throughout the holiday season. At our old house, I simply taped the cards to the two columns that framed our living room. I never really liked the way it looked, but I didn't know a better way to display all the cards that we received. I would like to know how you display your Christmas cards??? I haven't found a display spot in our new house, but would love to receive some ideas from all of you. I will post a picture in a couple of weeks that shows how I decided to display my cards. Suggestions PLEASE!

And of course I can't post without a picture, so here is my Foto Faces Friday pic which makes me giggle. And no this isn't from our Christmas shoot....you will have to wait to see those pictures. :) I hope everyone has a great weekend!

as to answer your question..what i did the past 2 years was get some cute christmas ribbon and string the cards up along the door frame to our french doors leading to the backyard. kind of made it look like garland or something? i'll probably do the same thing this year since i really have no other good spot to display them!

This is why I read first thing in the morning. Thanks!
I can't help with how to display them but we take the old ones and makes gift tags for the presents out of them.

Becky, how about a nice evergreen garland hung over your dining room doorway. You could punch holes in the cards and tie them on with a pretty ribbon. You could even embellish the garland with colored ornaments. Jojo

J bought a big wreath last yr(after-Christmas sale)and wants to attach (hot glue?) colored clothes pins around the wreath so we can just clip on the cards as they come. May or may not happen.

haha... this makes me laugh!
I actually started a new tradition last year by puting them all up on our magnetic bulletin board (available at Serendipity on Danforth)
Here's a pic of mine last year: http://missprissandme.blogspot.com/2008/12/holiday-greetings.html

I keep a decorative basket or bowl on the coffee table and place all cards there for display.

I take groisgrain ribbon and string it across a spot in the breakfast area, then use glittered clothes pins to hang them up. I also have a pottery barn wire tree that sits on the bar with the smaller cards.

After the holidays I have a bulletin board outside our powder bath that I hang all the photo cards on. This stays up all year long and people love to look at it.

And because I am a weirdo. The prior years card get taken off the bulletin board and then put into a photo album.

Make sense?
