Friday

  • Thank you SO MUCH for all the birthday wishes yesterday! I felt so loved with all the phone calls, e-mails, IMs, and cards that I received.

  • It is the first week of kinder, and my sweet GiGi has lost SEVEN teeth. This is crazy to me! GTO actually bumped into her in the gym yesterday and knocked the tooth out. When we arrived home from school, GTO and I immediately started on homework while GiGi pulled her tooth out of the zip lock baggy so she could proudly show her Daddy. After that, we never really saw what she did with her tooth, so when it was time for bed last night, ALL HELL broke loose in our house. You would have thought we had chopped her leg off. It was terror in the house! We searched and searched for the missing tooth, but it was nowhere to be found. She said she had laid it on the kitchen counter, but I had cleaned off the counters after dinner. It was getting late, and at this point, past her bed time. I told GiGi that we would have to write the tooth fairy a note and leave it under the pillow instead. She wasn't having it! The fit was getting worse by the minute, but I suddenly remembered that the tooth fairy had stashed away some of the old teeth that had been previously lost. I have no idea why we did this, but I AM SO GLAD we did! Hubby quickly pulled one out of the desk drawer and put it in a zip lock baggy. I took it to GiGi as she was still lying in the floor throwing a FIT. She closely examined it, and stated, "THIS IS NOT MY TOOTH!!!" DANG IT, I seriously didn't think she would notice the difference. I talked her into believing that YES, in fact it was her tooth, because who else would lose a tooth around our house??? Now, I am hoping she doesn't find the real ONE tonight lying in the kitchen floor! That would be devastating!!! Didn't I already say, THIS PARENTING STUFF IS HARD!

  • School is going well for both of the kids. GiGi is loving Kindergarten and talks happily about it every evening when I ask her how her day was. The bus picks both kids up after school and takes them to the after school program at the church. GiGi has insisted on sitting by her brother everyday on the bus. She hugs all over him after school in the hallway, and I think it makes him feel loved. :) I know he watches out for her and is taking good care of her. They really do love each other so much. I feel very fortunate that they get along so well.

Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day.
I can't believe Gigi has lost 7 teeth already! Audrey is in first grade and has only lost one so far. We had several problems with Kylie misplacing teeth or swallowing them when hers would fall out. I think she had to write the tooth fairy three or four letters because she didn't have any teeth to leave, lol.
I can't get over how big GTO looks! I love that he looks after his little sister, he is a really special guy.

LMAO!
She is not stupid - each tooth is distinctly different, and she knows that. A+ in Dental Morphology!
I can't wait for her to take my job.
