Update on GiGi

Yes, I did meet the bus at the school yesterday. I am very happy to report that GiGi had a much better day. Her pigtails came bopping down the stairs of the bus and she ran to me with a big smile on her face. I attempted to walk her to her classroom, but I got stopped at the corner of the hallway by the kindergarten teacher. Apparently, she wasn't allowing parents inside on the 2nd day of school. I think that is a little harsh, but completely understand her rationale. I could see the tears welling up in GiGi's eyes when I told her I couldn't walk her to her classroom. I swiftly said my goodbye, gave her a quick kiss and turned around and left. I actually think it was harder on me than her. She seemed to have a much better day.

I slept with my baby girl last night. When GiGi awoke this morning, she rolled over to me and said, "Mom, I need a Godfather...ya know, just in case you die." GREAT, just as I think she is doing better with all these changes. Apparently, she is a little traumatized. WE ARE NOT EVEN CATHOLIC!

Aww. Hopefully she will get into the groove of things and do better next week. Change is hard!! I was the same way as a child, I agonized over school starting for weeks each year, then had a hard time the first week or so then I was fine after I adjusted. I will pray that she has a better week next week!!

I'm glad she had a better day. I'm sure she'll love kindergarten once she gets used to it. Her godfather comment cracked me up, lol.

Glad she did better yesterday. BTW I was trying to update my blog and it looks like it is all messed up. If you get a chance look at mine and let me know if it looks that way to you.

AWW!!! I just read this post and the one before just now. How sad about the rough start! I'm all choked up...

She'll get back into the swing...and so will you. That's what I've heard at least, my turn hasn't happened yet.

Hang in there!!!

These are the same fears Ashton was having...that something would happen to us while she was apart from us. Now, I have to confess, I was a horrible homesick child...church camp was majorly traumatizing...and I was also afraid my parents would be killed while I was gone. I know how she feels and the worry she is holding inside. Reassurance is all I can tell you to give to her....that and of course love, love, love!
