GiGi's Special Day

Every year, around the kid's birthdays, hubby and I take a day off work to take them on a special day. Since GiGi's birthday is Sunday, she was awarded her special day today. We started the morning off eating pancakes, and opening a few presents (new dresses). She was happy to get all dressed up and start her day, but first I wanted to venture out to capture a few big girl photos. I guess this is what A FOUR YEAR OLD looks like...I just can't believe it. I will share more from our early morning shoot later.

Our next stop was The Bead Attic. GiGi loves jewelry, so I knew she would be excited to make her own creation. She made a beautiful ladybug necklace. She concentrated so hard on stringing beads and she was so proud of herself.
We asked her where she wanted to go to lunch, and I fully expected that she would want seafood, but instead she said she didn't care as long as it was somewhere fancy. We have been reading all the Fancy Nancy series of books and she thinks everything in her life should be fancy. We ended up at the Cheesecake Factory. After all, they do have some fancy deserts. She didn't know what to think about all the servers/waiters singing to her...

But she was happy with the miniature sundae and lighted candle.

The next surprise was going to Build-A-Bear. She had never been there before, but was so excited to "Build" a pink Monkey. She ended up choosing a Tinkerbell outfit for her monkey.

She named her monkey, Princess Liddy.
