Easter Already?

I am sitting here thinking about what the Easter bunny will bring GiGi.
I doubt the Easter bunny will bring GiGi the hot pink mini cooper with spinners that she recently asked her Daddy for...
...And I doubt the Easter bunny will bring her two front teeth!
But you never know. That Easter bunny sure is sneaky.
She is proud of that new grin. She calls it FIVE FOR FIVE. (just turned five years old and already has lost five teeth). She has one more loose tooth, and then she will be caught up to GTO. That will make her really happy.

OH MY...

I HAVE MISSED SEEING THIS BOY! His mom and I have been trying to get together for a picture session for several months, but with the doom and gloom of the winter, we just couldn't make it happen until now. I sure got attached to a lot of the babies I photographed last year, and now I can't wait to see all of them this spring.

Will ("Bear")sure has grown up since our last session. In fact, he wasn't even walking yet when we shot his one year pictures, but now he is a very fast moving 19 month old. I think his mom was a little worried that we didn't get many shots since this was the first time I had to chase him around with the camera, but I think I proved her wrong. I think we captured his 19 month old personality quite well with these pictures.

We played with the bubbles, but he was really more interested in....

...trying to blow them himself.
I absolutely love this mischievous look.

After all that hard work, it was time to enjoy some cookies with Dad. How cute are they???

Missing...

GTO is spending a few days with his JoJo (my mom) at the lake. He has only been gone for two days, and I already feel empty without my boy. The anxiety is kicking in and by Friday, I will be a wreck. It happens every year. Everyone has always told me that is gets easier as the kids get older, but it hasn't. In fact, I think the separation anxiety has become worse. My mom tried talking me into letting GiGi go with her as well, but I stood firm and said, no way! I can't be without both my babies at once. That might call for some medication. :) I wonder how long I can keep GiGi from going to the lake too. She didn't really seem to mind that she wasn't going, but she stood at the door and cried for her Bubba as he drove off. Sadly, I think I have passed down my separation anxiety to her. Wish us luck. Only two more days to go.

It helped that I got this sweet e-mail from GTO yesterday. He always knows just the right things to say.

Hey Mama,
What's up?
This is your little boy speaking to you.
I am having fun at the lake.
I am fixing to eat French Toast.
I hope you are having fun with GiGi and Daddy.
I miss you really bad.
I hope you miss me, too.
I hope you will send me a note back.
Tell daddy that soccer is probably going to be canceled because I looked on weather bug and it said rain will come.

Love,
Your son GTO

For those of you from other parts of the world - "Fixing to" does not mean he is going to fix the French Toast. Did I ever mention that I graduated with a b/a in English. I think my boy may need a grammar lesson. HA! And to top it off, GTO speaks with a southern drawl. It is quite funny. I don't think he got that from me. *wink*

Can't you feel the sweetness pouring out of that adorable soul of his?

I am taking the next few days off work/blogging/photography to wallow in my separation anxiety. Be back on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Family Moments

Acting completely natural when someone has a camera aimed in your direction is so hard. I often tell clients during a session that I am going to go scope out the light just so I can sneak back up on them being themselves and completely natural in their environment. It works out great, and I am able to capture completely real moments like this....

...And this.
There is something so magical about capturing a playful moment between a parent and child. Knowing that a parent's definition of happiness has changed so drastically since being blessed with a child. ..And now that overflowing happiness is centered around one beautiful little being.

Easter Dresses

I admit that I go a little overboard with Easter and Christmas dresses for GiGi. She is usually dressed to the nines at Easter time, but there isn't anything cuter than seeing little girls dressed in frills and Easter hats. My favorite dresses have always been Biscotti/Kate Mack brand, and every year I have purchased one for GiGi. I was excited to see the new spring dresses out this season, but was disappointed with the selection. This year seems a little different. It may be because GiGi is out of toddler sizes and is looking older, and I think her style is changing a little. Here are a few pictures from years past...

Here are a few selections that I have made so far. I love GiGi in bright, bold colors so I am leaning towards this dress.
I would also like to purchase a dress that can be worn more than once, and I think these next two dresses would be cute for Easter and also for our vacation in a few months.

GiGi has always liked frilly dresses, so I think this sparkly chiffon number would be her pick.
I like the matching flower headband.
If I was going to break my budget on a dress, this Luna Luna dress would be a top choice. LOVE IT!

Easter is only three weeks away so it is definitely time to make a choice, and the even harder choice will be finding something for GTO.

Spring is Here

WOW, I guess all the spring like weather last week got everyone in the mood for pictures. I have been SUPER busy this week with scheduling new sessions. It is a welcome relief as I didn't know how many more bitterly cold days I could mentally handle. I am excited that my calendar is filling up, and I am counting down the days to see some of my favorite customers. I will also be meeting a few new ones in the coming weeks and am looking forward to what I will capture this season. Stay tuned!

You know I couldn't post without a few pictures, so here are a few more of sweet Gracie Rae and those adorable puckered lips...

My favorite kind of light that sparkles....

Now if those trees will just grow some pretty green leaves for me!
