Documenting E at Three

I met up with this cute little guy a few days ago. Ethan had just celebrated his third birthday, so his mom wanted a few new pictures of him.

If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I like to capture all kinds of expressions and little quirks that children have. I don't want to photoraph all smiley pictures, but want to capture a serious or shy side along with some fun expressions.

Ethan started out very shy, and I love how it turned out. He looks so sweet and innocent.

Look at those long eyelashes...

And before I knew it, he was laying on the charm...

with lots of gorgeous smiles.

A few little quirks that I noticed is that he has the cutest crooked grin...

And when he is thinking really hard, or contemplating something, he does this cute little tongue thing...

And last but not least, I wanted to capture the relationship between Ethan and his beautiful mommy. I love seeing the bond that little boys share with their moms. It is something so special and unique that only a mom with a son would understand. :)

Day Dreaming...

Today, it will be 86 degrees here which has me day dreaming about hanging out on the dock, seeing the ducks swim by, and hearing the roar of our boat's engine start up for the first time. It is March which means we will be spending more and more weekends away. It cannot come fast enough. It seems each year I look forward to it more and more. Maybe because I know how much fun the kids have swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing. This year, we are going to try to add wakeboarding to their list. Nothing makes me happier than to see them doing the things they love!

YUMMY CHUBBY CHEEKS

Little Miss Gracie is growing fast. She is now 6 weeks old, she is more alert, and she is smiling a lot. I love this picture and I would gladly post more adorable pictures of her, but her outfit of choice happened to be a really cute tutu, onesie and beautiful bow. Sounds adorable, right? The problem is that it was ORANGE AND BLACK (OSU). I told her Mommy that I could not blog orange and black. :) That seriously might ruin my image. Heehee. Maybe, I should invest in a crimson and cream tutu for my picture taking.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today, Theodore Seuss Geisel would have turned 105. GTO's school is celebrating this week in remembrance of Dr. Seuss. One of their projects was to make a hat in honor of Dr. Seuss. We printed illustrations from all of our favorite books and made a collage hat. All of the student's hats will be on display at the school this week.

Courtney, Texas

I titled this post Courtney, TX, because I will always think of that when I see this beautiful baby. You see, baby Courtney has two older brothers named Austin and Tyler which are both Texas cities. Her mom didn't know that Courtney was also a Texas city until I told her. Does anyone know anything about Courtney, TX? I have never been there.

I photographed this beautiful baby girl last weekend. I had a hard time getting her positioned, and wish that I would have worked at it a little harder. At two weeks old, she wasn't very fond of tummy time. The first picture is my favorite. I love her coloring and those gorgeous puckered pink lips.

Here comes Peter cotton tail, hopping down the bunny trail.

Hopefully, I will get to see this baby girl again in a few months.

Congrats to Lee Jay for being the first to answer the most questions correctly. Watching the history channel is paying off, but more importantly, not only are you smarter than a 1st grader, but you may be smarter than Mr. Mason. :) Thanks for the laughs guys.

Hidden Gems

Occasionally, I will browse through old picture folders to see what I can find. It is fun to find pictures that I didn't like at first glance, but appreciate now. It's like finding hidden gems, and it makes me so happy. I need to do this more often. Here are a few that never made it onto the blog.

GTO has been working on a research project/presentation all week so I thought it would be fun for everyone to play a little game called "Are you smarter than a first grader?"
