Courtney, Texas

I titled this post Courtney, TX, because I will always think of that when I see this beautiful baby. You see, baby Courtney has two older brothers named Austin and Tyler which are both Texas cities. Her mom didn't know that Courtney was also a Texas city until I told her. Does anyone know anything about Courtney, TX? I have never been there.
I photographed this beautiful baby girl last weekend. I had a hard time getting her positioned, and wish that I would have worked at it a little harder. At two weeks old, she wasn't very fond of tummy time. The first picture is my favorite. I love her coloring and those gorgeous puckered pink lips.

Here comes Peter cotton tail, hopping down the bunny trail.

Hopefully, I will get to see this baby girl again in a few months.

My shout out....

Congrats to Lee Jay for being the first to answer the most questions correctly. Watching the history channel is paying off, but more importantly, not only are you smarter than a 1st grader, but you may be smarter than Mr. Mason. :) Thanks for the laughs guys.

  1. Who am I? (clue: one of the founding fathers of the United States of America. Also an author, printer, scientist, inventor, and politician.) Ben Franklin
  2. I invented something that was named after me. What was it? The Franklin Stove
  3. What book did I write? Poor Richard's Almanack
  4. I invented an item similar to something that GTO wears everyday. Bifocal Glasses
  5. What am I best known for? Discovering electicity by flying a kite with a key attached to it.

Hidden Gems

Occasionally, I will browse through old picture folders to see what I can find. It is fun to find pictures that I didn't like at first glance, but appreciate now. It's like finding hidden gems, and it makes me so happy. I need to do this more often. Here are a few that never made it onto the blog.

Are you smarter than a 1st grader?

GTO has been working on a research project/presentation all week so I thought it would be fun for everyone to play a little game called "Are you smarter than a first grader?" Absolutely no cheating, googling, or internet research. You must guess at the correct answers. (Grandparents and family who already know the answers are prohibited from playing.)

Toothless Tuesday...

They really love each other...

Of course they fight, argue, and get sick of each other, but more often than not, they are the best of friends. They play for hours together and GTO takes care of his GiGi. Just this week, GiGi woke up in the middle of the night crying in her room, and before I could get there, GTO was in there checking on her. He often tells her, "Don't worry GiGi, you will get to go to my school soon and I will be there to help you and take care of you." And I truly believe that he will. These two melt my heart!

Evening Sun

Enjoyed a nice walk with my GiGi this evening in search of some beautiful light. We had a nice chat about grasshoppers, ladybugs and singing birds. GiGi is ready for spring so she can go on a bug hunt. I am ready for spring because I need some color in my pictures. I am sick of brown grass and trees without leaves. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer, but I am thankful for warm days like today. Thanks for the talk and walk this evening GiGi....XOXO Mommy.

Future Athlete...

Baby Luke's Daddy is a huge Steelers fan, so how wonderful it is that Luke decided to make his presence two weeks before the Steelers won the Super Bowl. When I took these pictures, Luke's Daddy had just returned from his Super Bowl trip so we decided to lay him down on Daddy's lucky jersey. This turned out to be one of my favorite pictures from the entire session.
Both of Luke's parent's are very talented triathletes. I know his Daddy travels all over the world competing in competitions and is very successful at it. Triathlons and training really define who they are and I know little Luke will be running with them before too long. Trust me, this kid will be able to run circles around me.

I think his Mommy and Daddy have just been blessed with the best prize ever.

And a few sweet sleeping shots...

Don't you love little baby hands and fingers?
I bet he was pouting because he was sad to see me go. :) Don't worry little Luke, I will be back to see you in a couple of months.

HOW FUN

I know I am partial, but who knew GiGi would look so good plastered on a billboard. Aren't you glad you were part of her sudden rise to fame? Okay, maybe not, but this was fun anyway.

I hope this is contagious

I couldn't keep posting all these sweet babies without posting the newest one of all. Miss Gracie turns one month old on Valentine's Day, so of course I had to post one of her too.

I LOVE THIS BOY...

One, because I get to stare at those irresistible chubby cheeks on my computer screen while I am editing pictures from his shoot. Those cheeks make it so much more pleasant for me. Second, because his mom is so kind and sweet. You can tell that Will is the center of her universe and she is a great first time mom who is always so calm and collected even for picture time. Third, because his name is Will and I am a huge GoodWill Hunting fan and have always had a huge crush on Matt Damon. :)

Will's daddy is an avid hunter so we had to incorporate some camo.
I love taking pics of babies who can sit up, but are not yet crawling. It makes it so much easier.

He looks so sweet and innocent.

Get ready Ang, your life is about to change. This big boy is about ready to take off!
The next two pictures are my favorites from the shoot. I love how we worked the red into the pictures for a few Valentine shots.
I do not use black backdrops or any backdrops for that matter. These shots were straight off the camera with natural indoor light.
First, thanks to KJ for the kissy idea. Second, I had never met Will's dad until he walked out to see us doing this to his baby boy. I should have turned the camera on him to catch his shocked expression. It was hysterical. I don't know if he will ever let me come back...LOL!
Simply adorable! Thanks Ang for inviting me over again. I had a wonderful time.

4 Month Cuteness

Meet "Little Bit" as her mom calls her. Isn't she stunning.??!! She has the most incredible sparkling blue eyes and a head full of dark hair.

She was so much fun to accessorize and photograph.
I love that at 4 months, you can really capture a baby's personality. Little Bit had so much personality in her photos.

I am still not sold on black and white, but I thought this one was cute with her dark contrasting hair.

Look at those beautiful long eyelashes...
And those cute little chubby wrists.

And I had to post this one because it makes me giggle every time I see it!
Thank you Jan for allowing me to capture pictures of your darling baby girl. I look forward to seeing her through my camera lens in the future.
