Black Friday
The tree is trimmed, the presents are wrapped, and the stockings are hung.
This evening will be dedicated to watching an exciting bedlam game.
We are hoping this train will be headed NORTH next weekend to Kansas City for a big 12 championship game.

This little girl woke up very upset this morning when she realized Santa didn't come. Don't you see the disappoinment in that sweet face? Let the daily questioning begin..."How many more days until Santa comes?" 26 more days of answering this question over and over again. It's going to be a long month for her.

3 Month Cuteness
I could have stayed all day long to take pictures of this beautiful baby boy. He was perfect for me during our photo shoot. We started out with a little Santa baby.
Flashing a big, gummy grin while his mommy was talking to him.
A sweet profile shot
Aren't these cheeks ADORABLE! I think he was trying to figure out who the very silly lady with the big black thing was.
One of my favorites
Teething, but still so happy.
And finally, one just for fun because it makes me giggle. I do love those little rolls down the side of his belly.

Black and White
I used to love black and white photography...that is, until I got my DSLR camera and now I can't get enough of the bright colors. I think it has something to do with my kids bright, blue eyes. I love capturing their vibrant eye color. Recently, I went to a friend's house, who is a great photographer, and she had a few black and white photos of her kids enlarged on her wall which has inspired me to start trying out black and white on a few photos. I haven't captured any that I am competely satisfied with, but I am still giving it an effort.

Long and Straight
To all the mommies out there who do NOT put bows in their little girl's hair...SHAME ON YOU! You have influenced my GiGi to want to wear clippies with her hair long and straight. It is a discussion we have every morning. While I can still manage to talk her into bows on occasion, I know the end is coming. Making decisions for herself regarding her attire has become a priority of hers lately, and I guess I need to accept it. After all, this sweet girl will be turning FOUR in two short months. (sigh) Just typing the word FOUR brings tears to my eyes. Does anyone have a sweet baby girl that I can borrow to dress up??? Lots of hair is a prerequisite.
As long as GiGi doesn't start demanding that we buy tennis shoes, I think I will be able to cope. She did wear jeans to school today, but I can still count on one hand how many times she has worn jeans, and she did still look cute even without a hairbow.

Anyone else tired?
It's been a long and very busy weekend. There are a couple of tired kids in this household AND A TIRED MOMMY. Friday night we had date night with the kids. I took GTO to dinner with a friend of his, and Hubby took Miss GiGi to dinner at her favorite pink castle and out for ice cream sundaes. On Saturday, I hosted a baby shower, and then Saturday evening, Hubby and I had a couple's shower/party to attend. The kids stayed with Grandma and Grandpa (Thank you M-I-L!), so we traveled to pick them up on Sunday and spent a few hours enjoying the nice day outside. GTO (finally) learned to ride a bike in the grass which was exciting. Now, it is time for reading and bed which is already calling my name. :)

Dear GiGi,
Oh, how I love when you crawl in bed with us in the middle of the night. You know I could never send you back to your own bed. I love how you scoot underneath me and snuggle all night, BUT tonight Mommy would like a good night's sleep without your sharp little feet digging in her back. Okay? Deal?

Career Day 2008
When GTO was three, he planned out his career path. He was going to be a dentist when he grew up (he would take over Dr. Pat's practice), and his girlfriend, Sumer, would work at the front desk (if his Grandma ever decides to retire from the dentist office). I thought it was funny that he had all this planned out at such a young age.
Last Friday was career day at school and the kids were supposed to dress up as their career choice. Since I work in the medical field, I thought I would bring home a surgical mask and maybe a pair of children's scrubs and GTO's life long dream of being a dentist would be played out. A couple of nights before, I talked to him about what I would bring home from work for him to wear on Friday. I was SHOCKED by his response...
He informed me that his career choice had changed and that he wanted to work at McDonald's, and wanted me to make him a McDonald's uniform to wear on Friday. WHAT!!!! I asked him why? He said "so I can eat there whenever I want." Maybe this is partly my fault. I HATE McDonald's and simply AVOID the place. GTO wants to eat there every meal. I guess I need to allow him to eat there more often so his career choice will become a little more ambitious. :)
