I MISS YOU TOO

On the way to taking GTO to school this morning, he was telling me about a little girl that is a new friend. I asked him if the little girl goes to the after school program with him. He replied, "No, she says her Mommy would miss her too much if she went." As my stomach dropped and my heart began to ache, I realized I had to explain to him that I MISS him all day to, but some Mommy's work. I told him how much I miss him when I am away no matter where I am, and I told him that I would try to pick him up early on Friday. That seemed to make him happy, but I still felt the guilt. During the sad conversation, I must not have been paying attention to driving...

I looked up in the mirror and saw this...lights flashing and all! UH OH! I had just pulled into the school zone and knew that I wasn't speeding. I asked the officer what the problem was, and he stated that I turned left on a red light. I seriously can't believe I did this...apprarantly, I can't drive while on a guilt trip. I waited for the officer to return while explaining to GTO what was going on.

The officer returned and said, Ma'am, you have a perfect driving record, so I am going to give you a warning, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Yes, he really said that! How nice!

P.S. DAD/Papa - If you are reading...Yes, perfect driving record...that is what the officer said! Unbelieveable, Right?

I got out of bed for this??? Are you kidding me???

Preface: Once I am already in bed and comfy, I hate getting back up. When the kids were babies, hubby would get up and make a bottle and I would stay awake in bed to feed them. Hubby has the gift of falling asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. If I get up, it takes me about an hour to go back to sleep. As long as I can stay in bed, it doesn't take me long though.

Last night after I was already in bed, GiGi started yelling for me. I was thinking what could she possibly need? Do I really have to get up??? We had already been through the bed time ritual. We brushed teeth, went potty, got a drink, turned the night light on, talked about the next day, and received lots of kisses from Mommy and Daddy...what else could it be? I walk into her room and turn on the light...she looks up at me with her big blue eyes and says in the sweetest voice, "Mommy, (pause) I have a booger on my thumb." Oh, the joys of motherhood.

It's My Day...

Well, at least my birthday, and I like to think it is solely mine. :) GiGi is so excited that I am the same age that she is now (three), and I am happy to share the age with her. Since my S-I-L already pointed out that I don't like being in front of the camera, I thought I would prove her wrong and post a few pics of myself. :)

First Day of 1st Grade

This is the first year that GTO has gone to school excited and has not shed any tears. I guess this is a sign that he is growing up and is less fearful of the unknown. My mind is racing now worrying about how his first day is going. I wish I could be excited like he was, but my separation anxiety is kicking in. I am counting down the hours until I can go get him. I hope that he is this happy to go back tomorrow.
Doesn't he look cute???

SEVEN DAYS SOBER

Photobucket

I am feeling very proud of myself today. 7 days without caffiene is a big accomplishment for me. I am still getting the daily headaches from withdrawals, but hopefully by the end of the week, they will be completely gone. The cravings haven't gone away, and I still feel the urge to stop at 7-eleven for my morning Big Gulp, but it is getting easier day by day. This bad habit had gotten out of control over the past two-three years and I found myself drinking MANY cokes per day. I decided it was time to kick the habit. Wish me luck!

First Day of School for GiGi

Photobucket

During circle time, the kids were supposed to stand up and introduce themselves and tell what they like to do. GiGi said, "I like playing with my bubba."

Olympian 2020

I think the Olympics are leaving a lasting impression on GiGi. She has come home every day and immediately put on her leotard and started showing off. Watch out Shawn and Nastia...this three year old may be able to take you on!

The baby is...

I am so excited for Mel. She already has two adorable boys and this will be her last child, so I am glad she will be able to buy pink bows, and beautfiful dresses. I am going to have to give her a lesson on shopping for girls clothes.

Melissa and I have grown up together since 6th grade, and our lives have followed a very similar path. It has been so rewarding sharing in life's journeys with a best friend. We got married 5 weeks apart so we had a wonderful time planning our weddings together. Our first born sons were born two months apart and are the best of friends. Next came our second pregnancies one month apart which both of us were a little surprised about at the time. It was so rewarding to have someone to share the same moments of life that you are experiencing. While I am THRILLED for Melissa in this next chapter in her life...I do feel a little left behind. I can't imagine being pregnant without her. I do hope that I am blessed with another baby, but who will be there to share it with???? Any volunteers???

I can't wait to meet Gracie Rae. I am sure this blog will be filled with many pictures when she makes her debut. Congrats Mel!

Happy Anniversary

Eight years ago today, I married a wonderful guy.

We spent a nice weekend in Dallas at the Gaylord Texan. It was a fun resort with lots to do. I would highly recommend it to anyone heading South for a weekend away. I told hubby that tonight instead of going out to dinner, I would like to stay home to watch Shawn Johnson compete in the team finals. Hopefully, the girls team will kick some China booty! :)

6th Birthday Party

Saturday, we had a little get together with family and a couple close friends to celebrate GTO's 6th birthday. We had pizza and then we took Greyson and a friend and cousin bowling. They had a great time. Tuesday is the BIG DAY, and then later this month we are going to have a back to school party for all his school friends. It is going to be a busy month.
